6 Week Sweat Plan

Welcome to my 6WSP courtesy of CrossFit Endurance….

If you are like me, and have limited amount of time to work out because: 1) you work in excess of 10 hours a day, mostly on your feet, 2) have stopped making your body, health and sanity a priority, 3) are bored with your old routine, you may want to try out CrossFit Endurance. It was suggested to me by my peer, Susan Stanley, who just placed top 6 in the NYC triathlon.

So beginning Sunday September 18th, I will be posting my WOD results religiously on BFB TV like it’s my damn diary. Tomorrow, I will put together my beginning video and weekly post videos of my progress. I’ll talk nutrition for the workouts and recovery; maybe even add a few cooking videos & interviews.

Lately, CrossFit has been getting a lot of flack for employing coaches and trainers who turned the blind eye on form. Many have complained of the bevy of injuries and ailments that would not have occurred under strict supervision and periodization used by great functional coaches.  But truly, any fitness medium, from at-home DVD’s, exercise websites, bootcamps, and even group fitness classes, can be subject to a participant hurting themselves because we rely heavily on perceiving the movements without proper assessment nor progression.

In other words - “eh!” to naysayers and join me on a journey that will push your level of endurance to a whole new better fit body. #6WSP is underway; come get some!

The Hiatus

So you’ve took notice that I’ve been on hiatus for some months now.

What you don’t know is that I’ve been working in the background (consider it research), trying to put some major pieces of my puzzle back together. In doing so, I was able to find my personal reset button, that so desperately needed to be activated.

So with all the chaos just about sorted, it’s time for Better Fit Body to restart (more like jump start) her engine. With the last few months of 2011 left to spare, I better end this year with the much-anticipated bang I hoped to start with. Stay tuned…

#realtalk PSA: Quit Toxic People

They come in all sizes, shapes and will hide behind an assortment of smiles, “please, thank you, i love you, hey you’re the best”; but behind their gleaming exterior, they are quite toxic inside.

You know them; they drain you of your highs, pit you down when you’re low. Anything to keep the attention on their narcissistic selves; anything to steal your thunder and warp your polish.

If someone comes to mind while reading this, most likely they are one Toxic M*tha. Stay clear, stand down, but whatever you choose to do - tell them I quit! Quit their demotivating antics to drag you into their web of fears, lies stemming from their lack of confidence, respect and integrity. Quit their constant stream of drama, ill-advised doings, their endless reverberation of “sorry/my bad/whoops did I do that”, followed by endless acts of beseeching. Spare yourself future hurt and mental congestion. But do give them a death blow, a verbal spinning back-fist to their medulla, but confidently sounding 2 simple words: I quit.

Consider this your forewarning; because the life you save will be your own. #realtalk
